Chairman’s Message: Finishing Strong and Taking Time for What Matters

As we move into November, I want to start by thanking everyone who joined us in Phoenix for the 2026 NASGW Expo. It was good to see so many familiar faces, reconnect with longtime industry friends, and have productive conversations about the challenges and opportunities facing our businesses. Events like the Expo are a reminder of the strength of our industry and the value of coming together to share ideas, solve problems, and prepare for what lies ahead.
One thing that makes November unique is that it often marks a period of transition. Whether in business, government, or our personal lives, this time of year tends to bring change and an opportunity to reflect on where we are headed. This year is no exception.
As results from this week's midterm elections continue to be finalized, we are seeing shifts in the political landscape across the country. Several governorships and state legislative chambers have changed party control, and at the federal level, control of Congress is changing as well. Regardless of individual political views, these developments serve as an important reminder that public policy can have a significant impact on the business environment in which we operate.
As leaders, it is important that we stay informed, remain engaged, and understand how decisions made at the state and federal levels may affect our businesses, employees, customers, and industry. While we may not control the outcome of elections, we can control how prepared we are to respond to the opportunities and challenges that follow.
At the same time, November is also a season that encourages us to step back and appreciate what matters most. As Thanksgiving approaches, it is worth taking a moment to recognize how much we have to be grateful for.
We are fortunate to work in an industry filled with hardworking people who care deeply about their businesses, their customers, and the future of the shooting sports. Many of our colleagues and business partners have become lifelong friends. We have families who support us through busy seasons and challenging times. And we have opportunities to enjoy the outdoors and pass along traditions that connect generations.
My encouragement as we head into the final weeks of the year is to stay focused on your business and remain informed about the changing environment around us. Just as importantly, make time to step away and enjoy the people and experiences that matter most. Get out in the woods. Spend time with family and friends. Enjoy the traditions that make this season special.
There will always be another meeting, another deadline, and another challenge to work through. Finding the right balance is part of being an effective leader.
I wish you and your families a safe and successful hunting season and a very Happy Thanksgiving.
Until next time!
