January brings a sense of fresh possibility. It gives us a chance to reset, refocus, and look ahead with clear eyes. After a busy end to 2025 and some well-earned time with family and friends, we are stepping into a new year filled with opportunities for growth, collaboration, and renewed momentum.  Most of us are looking ahead to the first big checkpoint on the calendar: SHOT Show.  SHOT has always been more than just an event. It is a place where conversations turn into plans and ideas start to take shape. Whether you are heading to Las Vegas to meet with partners, preview new product lines, or simply reconnect, it marks the unofficial launch of the business year. And this year, it feels especially important.

Coming out of 2025, the tone across the industry was measured but positive. The challenges are still there. Many businesses have reset expectations and made the kinds of adjustments that lead to long-term strength. What I have heard from members in recent months is encouraging: clearer planning, better alignment, and a renewed focus on the fundamentals.

As you prepare for the weeks ahead, I encourage you to look beyond just the next sales target or deadline. Take time to talk with your team about the bigger picture. What does success look like this year? Where do you want to improve? What lessons from last year are worth carrying forward, and which habits need to be left behind?  Be clear on your priorities and willing to listen. These early meetings often shape the tone for the rest of the year.  Whether you are running a large operation or a small team, alignment is what makes things move. The more time you spend on setting direction now, the more confident your team will be when things speed up later.  Let’s enter the year with purpose and flexibility, and by doing so, we will be better equipped to navigate change when it comes.

As always, NASGW is here to support your business. This association was built to strengthen the foundation of the two-step distribution model by bringing people together, providing clarity, and helping members focus on long-term success.
I am optimistic about what lies ahead in 2026. I believe we are entering this year with a better sense of where we stand, what we value, and how we can grow. That clarity, along with the strength of our member community, gives me confidence in the year ahead.
I look forward to seeing many of you in Las Vegas. Let’s make it a strong start to a successful year.

Until next time,
