The Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) has had a busy few months, filing and advancing several significant legal challenges aimed at defending the rights of lawful gun owners across the nation. From contesting new state-level restrictions in California to questioning the constitutionality of long-standing federal regulations, SAF continues to play a leading role in shaping the national conversation around firearm policy and individual rights. In addition to its courtroom efforts, SAF also recognized one of the industry’s most influential advocates at this year’s Gun Rights Policy Conference. Below is a summary of the organization’s most recent legal actions and updates.

2023 firearm sales were on track to come in depressingly below 2022 sales. The number of June, July, August, and September NICS checks were 19.6%, 17.0%, 13.1%, and 8.2% lower respectively than 2022 checks for the same months. August 2023 checks were actually only 0.4% above 2019 levels, indicating that perhaps the pandemic-associated rise across the industry had truly come to an end. Nobody needs a turkey shotgun mid-summer. You no longer have to just guess. SCOPE provides data that drives fact-based planning.

Storage and capacity are still top of mind, but remote cloud service storage options reduce the necessity of internal storage.
