SAF: June 2026

Written by Second Amendment Foundation | 6/15/26 7:41 PM

The past month has been extremely busy for the legal team at the Second Amendment Foundation. In the past four weeks alone, SAF filed a new lawsuit, expanded a current lawsuit and petitioned the Supreme Court to hear a “sensitive places” case. All this was happening while SAF’s Corporate Partner team was spearheading a partner renewal and promotions benefitting SAF’s legal efforts. Check out the full details, and more, below:

SAF Corporate Partner Updates

Over the course of the past month, Dead Air Silencers renewed their corporate partner commitment at the Silver level, and Atrius Development Group, Vortex and Nine Line Apparel all stepped up to offer limited-edition products or a portion of proceeds from sales to benefit SAF’s legal efforts.

During the entire month of June, Atrius will graciously donate a portion of proceeds from all sales to SAF. Atrius CEO and Founder Ryan Spadafore explained it best:

“We are proud to support the Second Amendment Foundation and its mission to uphold and defend the constitutional rights of all Americans. As part of that commitment, we are launching a ‘Together We Win’ initiative throughout the entire month of June. During this time, a portion of Atrius Development Group’s proceeds will be donated to the Second Amendment Foundation to support its ongoing legal, educational, and advocacy efforts. We are proud to stand alongside organizations and a unique team of individuals dedicated to preserving the rights and values deeply important to millions of Americans across the nation, bringing a positive shift to the gun culture.”

In addition, both Vortex and Nine Line ran promotions to benefit SAF. Vortex offered a limited-edition Constantine Carry Belt and Nine Line partnered with SAF to offer an exclusive T-shirt. Both promotions are ongoing, but quantities are limited.

SAF Files Lawsuit Challenging Newly Signed Maryland Glock Ban

SAF and its partners filed a lawsuit challenging Maryland’s newly signed Glock ban. The filing comes in immediate response to Gov. Wes Moore signing the bill into law.

Gov. Moore signed into law Senate Bill 334, which states a person “…may not manufacture, sell, offer for sale, purchase, receive, or transfer a machine gun convertible pistol.” It further defines a “machine gun convertible pistol” as a firearm that contains a cruciform trigger bar. The ban goes into effect on Jan. 1, 2027.

“This Maryland law bans nearly every Glock and Glock-style handgun on the market today,” said SAF Executive Director Adam Kraut. “These pistols are among the most popular on the market, chosen in overwhelming numbers by peaceable citizens for lawful purposes like self-defense. Maryland has now attempted to ban these firearms because a subset of criminals illegally modifies them, using conversion parts that are themselves illegal to possess, and then commit crimes with the modified handguns. Not only is this law as foolish as banning hops and barley to prevent drunk driving, but these commonly owned arms are clearly protected by the Second Amendment, the ratification of which takes certain policy choices – including this one – off the table.”

SAF Expands Existing New Jersey Gun Confiscation Lawsuit

SAF, joined by New Jersey Firearms Owners Syndicate, expanded a lawsuit challenging the unlawful revocation and denial of permits as well as confiscation of firearms from multiple residents in New Jersey.

The case, Aliaj v. Fort Lee Police Department, was originally filed late last year after the confiscation of plaintiff Elsid Aliaj’s firearms. The amended complaint expands the case to add plaintiffs Martin Hroncich and Luis Rene De La Cruz Franco, who faced similar confiscations and permit denials and revocations in Bergen County, N.J. In each of the Plaintiff’s instances, Bergen County officials prevented them from exercising their Second Amendment rights based solely on the grounds that they lived with someone officials “had concerns” were prohibited from owning firearms.

SAF Seeks Supreme Court Review in ‘Sensitive Places’ Case

SAF and its partners petitioned the United States Supreme Court for review in Novotny v. Moore, SAF’s challenge to Maryland’s so-called “sensitive places” carry ban.

Maryland was among the states forced to change their carry permit laws after the landmark Bruen decision held that every American had the right to carry in public. In response, the state passed a new carry ban in which, even with a newly available permit, residents are still not allowed to carry a firearm in a long list of overlapping “sensitive place” categories, like mass transit facilities, state parks, healthcare facilities, museums, stadiums, and more.”

As noted in the petition, “…because this case addresses a wide variety of locations, it is an ideal vehicle for this Court to clarify the narrow scope of the historical “sensitive places” limitation on the right to keep and bear arms. There is no historical tradition of banning carrying firearms in “crowded” places or places where “vulnerable” people are present.”
